If they total it, trade out exhausts with Josh. You'll never get the money you put in so someone should at least get to use it.
Chris,

By Josh do you mean Senator?? Cuz if so he'd have to carry the exhaust around b/c unfortunately he isn't sporting an SC right now!!! Soon I hope - right Josh!!

Latest - insurance is trying to screw us with a $1500 check when the damage is estimated at $9500. If they want war - they got it

Peace,
Jonny

What's the update on this? One of my least favorite things to do is to deal with any insurance company.

They ended up agreeing to fix it for $4551 which isn't too bad. I am getting a new hood, new trunk lid, new rear windshield and lots of paint There was a very light tear on the rear leather and they agreed to pay my deductible of $500, to count it as acidental damage and not fix it. Which is fine for me - I can deal with a tiny, barely noticable tear for $500!!

I will hopefully get the car back in about a week or so.

Will post pictures when she returns

Man,

I wish it was a color change time - but unfortunately they are doing some PDR ( paintless dent repair) so I would have to pay for about half of the paint job. I had chosen a more silver color, as opposed to the bluish silver I have now.

But, at least it is getting fixed and the car will be perfect again.

Peace,
Jonny

I'm not sure how much a stock hood from a dealer, but could you use the money and upgrade to a carbon fiber hood?

Hey man,

Josh (Senator) and I discussed this on Thursday and it is a viable option. However, I am not a particularly big fan of the carbon fiber look, so I guess I would end up painting it. My car will never be fast enough that I would ever have to worry about weight decreases, so I decided against it.

It would be really cool though!! Damn, now you got me thinking about it again

LOL

Peace,
Jonny

Maybe if you really wanted and it was cheaper you could find out if anyone has a oem hood and trunk they would be willing to trade for carbon fiber if its cheaper. Also since you are halfway there, as you said, maybe (if you can) just cut some edges and spring for the paint now instead of paying all the way later. I am sure you can come across a hood and trunk...i think i just saw a trunk on ebay not long ago, it may still be up.

Hey man,

Unfortunately right now I don't have the $$$ to spring for the whole paint job - which sucks - but it is the whole car painted and hail dings left or half the car painted and all dings gone.

The problem with parts such as a hood is the shipping is so damn expensive that it kind of takes away from the good price you got it for.

I just want my baby back so I can get my S-AFC installed and tuned!! It is sitting here staring at me as we speak!!

Peace man,
Jonny
