I believe that's if you want to keep the hood. I'm letting them use my car this weekend so they can test the hood. I'm not going to be purchasing it though, just forwarding the advancement of R&D on parts for our cars!
Hey Steve, dunno if Gordon forwarded the message, but thanks for the help on that '97 bumper and grill! Greatly appreciate it

I dont know man, you should give someone the chance to get this hood for $300 off... I wanted to do this but then again I'd just have it painted black and that defeats the purpose.

Just got back from the test fit and running some errands.
Summary - another great quality product from the cool people at Seibon!
The hood that was tested on my car was the vented version. Quality of the laid CF is great, very thick construction, with reinforcement retained. Nicely rolled at the edges. This hood will nicely match a quality aero kit such as the Vertex.
Weight is lighter than stock , but the build quality is high enough that the hood does have some weight to it, approximately 18-25 lbs i'd say.
Fitment was good, with the front perfectly lining up to the front bumper skin and headlights.
Back outer edges also had good fitment, but will require some tinkering with the tightening of the bolts to the rear stays for a perfect fitment. This is standard procedure on any hood install, including OEM hoods-- they all have to be aligned. This is something any body shop can do.
It's debatable that hood pins would be needed due to the aerodynamics of the SC, but as always, since this is an 'off-road' use only product, and not for street useage, hood pins/safety is in the best interest of anyone looking to change out the heavy stock hood with this piece.
All of the Seibon products i've seen firsthand have had great quality, and are much higher quality thansome of the stuff i've seen released from VIS and other mass produced lines.
