Hi gang. I am a newbie very intrested in mods for a 92 SC4000. I can finally post thanks to Michael's help.
I never realized this board existed until a stumbled across it a few days ago. To see pic of the turbo SC's is awesome!! One question though, why are there no SC400 turboed (or are there)?
Looking through the archives I learned that a torque converter is a great first edition to begin modding a lexus. How much power can the Dragon TC handle? Is there an alternative to it or are the all close to one thousand dollars?
Well I guess that's about it for now. Thanks in advance for the replies.

Todd, the SC300s share the same basic engine as the Supra TT and many of the parts are a direct bolt on. There is also more room to add a turbo and there is at least 1 aftermarket system for the 300s.
The 400 V8 is a different beast. I have been considering doing a turbo on my LS400. My thoughts are a SMALL pair of turbos mounted very low using a scavenge pump to return the oil. I cannot say yet how practical this idea is but if I move forward you will definitely see my updates.
The Dragon TC is made by precision industries and is a true lock up type. This limits the gas mileage drop and also improves driveability. It should be able to handle 800hp or so. I would advise that you start with it. I have heard of reworked stockers but you don't get the benefit of a lighter, faster responding unit.

Brian, I am in Sugar Land. By all means we should meet up and swap stories and talk Lexus. Send me an email at jbrady@vpn-inc.com
There is another guy in this part of town, his handle on the old board was sweetloule. He has a first gen LS400 with a TC, intake mods and stereo. We should all meet up. Maybe take a run to HRP.

Hey Brian, I have an idea for a supercharger for the V8 Lexus cars. I will be measuring my LS for fitment and I would like to measure clearance between the hood and engine on an SC400. If all goes as planned I may be able to offer a system to Lexus V8 enthusiasts. Send me an email with a phone number if you want to hook up an talk Lexus performance.
