What!!!??? Thats the Area 51 car! They were the first people to really go all out an make a drag car out of the SC3/4 chasis. They were also always rumored to be on the verge of designing a marketable F.I. system for the 1UZFE, lol- but it never happened.

I remember alot of post regarding Area 51, the car, Its amazing 60' times, and the rumored F.I. projects all the time when I first joined.

Area 51 used have some great stuff. Its intresting that they used a 7mgte.

Yeah, I thought that was odd too... Im not really educated on the advantages of the 7MGTE compared to the 2JZ-GTE. Maybe they wanted to be different? Regardless, it was a fast car!

Its cheaper to replace if it blows up. Thats the only advantage I see. Replacing head gaskets on those things blows. And they blow'em ALL the TIME. But yeah kudos for being different.

as i recall, the original engine they used was a 2J. this 7M is the new owners motor....i think the car changed hands about 3 years ago.

not absolutley sure of any of this.

Good to know that my lex makes more power than the drag car does I'm sure that thing is about 1000lbs lighter than my bucket though.
