Electrical question...before I buy this sc400
Here's the deal, I can get a 93 sc400 with 99k miles for $6,000. It needs a couple things one is a right year strut (which he had quoted at 138 parts/labor), and he says it needs some fuses??
I guess the power mirrors, stereo, and memory lock on the seats have no power to them, but every other component does. He also says it happened right after a new battery was put in, and the mechanic knew for sure it just needs some fuses. Does this sound right to you? I don't want to but it and have to deal with electrical issues.

There is nothing easier on a car to replace than some fuses - so I'd be calling some BS right about now. Take 2 minutes to make the car more attractive - hmmm
I would tell him if it is the fuses then you will give him $2 for a set and he can call you when they are all put back in and everything is working

Well supposedly he didn't realize the problem until he got home from the mechanics and just hasn't had time to take it in. I dropped him an email, seeing if he could try and fix it, or to take it back to the mechanic if he doesn't know how to change a fuse .
The car is a few hours away from me and I just want to be able to go down there with no regrets.

Stereo is most likely unrelated.

Fuses are easy to replace. Just have the guy do it if he is so confident that the problem is only with the fuses. The strut sounds a bit expensive. One strut usually runs about $50 plus another $50 to install.
