Default Front License Plate Mounting

Hey guys-

I'm a n00b here at clublexus mainly because...well, I don't own a lexus. I'm usually on the bmw forums and honda forums (e36 325i 5spd, 2k1 6th gen accord coupe 5spd) but I'm posting this for a friend of mine.

We live out in westwood, CA (UCLA) where parking maids are horrendous and punks at giving out front plate tickets. My friend drives a 93 SC400 and unfortunately there are no holes to mount the plate in the front. I did a search, but couldn't really find the answers that I need.

What would be the best way to mount the front plate (bracket is already bought) to the bumper without any drilling? Is it possible to just mickey mouse it and get some longer "arms" to reach underneath the front dam and attach it that way? If anyone has pictures too, that'd help greatly. Thanks guys.

Do an L bracket. Its a peice of aluminum. You drill in a hole into the bumper, but on the bottom of it, so when you remove the plate, there won't be any visible holes. Unformunately this method doesn't work when some a$$clowns decide to park their benz in your plate

You could not have done much of a search- this has been discussed extensively before:

Talking Lexus License Plate Bracket

I bought a Lexus (SC400) License plate bracket from the local dealer. ($47.00 Ugh!) But, It fits under the bumber in pre-drilled holes and is an 'L' shaped bracket. It does not stay put there by itsself, there seems to be an additional bracket that you would need. I put the bracket into it's holes and drilled up throught the underneath part and secured it all with a couple of sheet metal screws. This allowed me to mount the front plate without drilling into the front of the bumper cover. (I just got that re-painted)

Dunno, but I was pissed. The guy just left his ancient benz in my bumper. Only scratches I received was because of the front licence plate

When my car was re-painted, the crew at the shop just couldn't come to violate the clean front bumper with the with the liscense tag again, they said it was up to me to do it!
I don't know where the plate ever wound up, but it's not on the car.
Still wish they'd have called me first before installing NEW gold emblems.
I liked it when I lived in Michigan; no front plates there, and the view through the rear view is much better because of it.
