Unhappy

Hey I just was wondering why the MAF adapter that I bought at importtoys.com for my 1996 sc400 does not fit? The MAF adpater seems the be same one that everyone else is using. ( rectangular on one side and round on the other). But how come it does not fit my sc? Are air boxes different from 96 & up? When I took of my airbox. There was no square shape side pn the intake tube where I can clamp the MAF adater. I did notice that once the airbox was removed plastic intake tube had a fan type sensor (ODB 2 ) inside. I did however manage to place the K&N filter directly on. Am I the only one who had this problem? I will have to return the adapter to get a refund. But I'm just kind of sad that I had to pay for shipping to get it, and also pay for shipping to get a refund.

Thanks

Angry hey now sad shipping guy....

Dont be sad....

Anyway, did you pulll the entire air box out? It should bolt to your air flow meter with 4 bolts which stick out of the air box. The plate should fit in its place. -- make sure to save the black plastic gasket.

Default re

haha Funny that you caught that

Ok I went to your site and checked out "I want more air". The metal plate that you have that connects to you adapter. I don't have that. The front of the air box leads to plastic funnel behind the head light as you described it. But the back side of the air box is round. The plastic intake comming from the engine is also round with the sensor hinged on top of it. Show where am I suppose to bolt it too? I just wish I had a digital camera.

Hi,
I guess I wouldnt be able to say more than '933005spd' said as far as installation. If posted a pic. of a customers car with the intake adaptor installed.
You can always drop me an email if you have a problem just make sure that you put 'Attn: Marcus' in the subject line ( there are several people that take 'shifts' on email).....I'll get ya hooked up!!

I agree with SC505. My '97 can't use that metal adapter also. Just use a 3" silicone hose and a couple of hose clamps to attach the two together (MAF and filter). See attached image.
