Talking Finally...new GS430 wheels on my SC400

Hey gang.

I finally got rid of my stock chrome 10-spoke wagon wheels. Took over a year and a half to finally take the leap and go for something different. I originally was going to get some GS400 wheels because I wanted to keep a somewhat stock look. But when the '06 5 spoke wheels came out, I thought they would look pretty nice on the SC because the spokes were meaty and the line down the center of each spoke worked with the line running from the front of the car to the back.

Thanks to Jeff for the hookup. Nice guy and good to do business with. The only thing I had to do was get new lugnuts since the one used for the stock chromies were WAY too long. I'm really happy with how they look and think it's the first SC400 with new GS430 wheels.

Guess the old rims will be posted in the classfied here soon!

I don't think it is that bad at all.

WOW that looks nice! It flows very well with the body lines. Is your car lowered?

BTW, how much did you pay for the wheels?

It looks really nice and really has the OEM+ look. However, I think some spacers (front and rear) to bring the wheel and tire closer to the fender would make the car totally transform into a very elegant and tastefully modified ride!

Hey! I was just reading a thread a few days ago and some guy said he sold some GS430 rims to and SC300 guy named Bao or something like that. He had a picture of the rims on a black SC, looked real good IMO. Well, if it was you who bought them, congrats...... again!

I'm Jeff and he's Bao lol

He spent abotu $840 on 4 rims, 4 center caps, 16 lug nuts, 1 Lexus wheel lock set (4) because I told him I'd meet him halfway w/ the lugs if his old ones didn't work out.

He's not lowered.

What? Spacers? More money??????

This car is like a perpetual money pit. Damn you Club Lexus!!

I ended up going with Falken Ziex 512's 245/40/18. I was going to get Nitto's but, they didn't have them in stock. The Falkens aren't bad tires for the money. Ran me about $600 mounted.

Thanks for the suggestion with the spacers. How much do you think that will run and how wide should I go?

I was thinking of getting Espelir lowering springs since I think it would definitely look better with a drop. Probably run me about $275....and that doesn't even include installation. Do you think that might be too low of a drop?

I guess I'll be eating Top Ramen for the next month.

Here's a better picture so you can see the fender gap.

WOW! -again

damn it looks nice! I would definately consider getting some aftermarket suspension to lower the car. You should get a spring and shock set-up or coilovers. You don't want to just get aftermarket springs and be bouncing around on stock shocks. I have heard good things about supra springs and shocks for $300~ used. There are also Illumina coilovers for $500~ and Tiens basics for $700~ new.

I would get some spacers for the back rims to flush it out with the body.

post more pics when you get the chance...you've just inspired me to pick up some gs rims
