Here is a little graphic to show what I mean:


This is an image depicting the RHD cars. The mirror image applies for LHD cars. Swapping the two won't work optimally.

Thanks for the help & illustration hrere.. I belive there is a diffference there.. but.. who knows, maybe I can try swapping the base and see if they fit.. let you know if I decided to give it a shot!

there is most definately a difference... and that diagram shows it perfectly.....

and if that's not enough... i had JDM folding mirrors installed on my mr2... and man they were off
