Default tail light moisture

anyone know how to solve the problem of the rear tail lights getting moisture in them. I can't find any cracks in mine. Has anyone solved this problem?

I have the same problem for my rears and one of my fronts. What Im going to do is just bake them, clean them out real good while they are opened, and then reseal them up nice and tight so no more moisture can get in.

i took the bulbs out, took the hairdryer and set it so it could blow right into the tail light for 20-30 minutes and just siliconed the crap out of it, going twice over the old seal and then some
it hasnt came back yet

Default tail light moisture fix

I had the same problem so I removed the taillight and made up a cone funnel from some cardboard and stuck it into one of the holes on the back and then stuck a hairdryer in the other end and let it blow hot air into the housing for about 30 minutes. This dried out all the moisture. A few days later the moisture was back, but within another few days it evaporated again and it has never been back.

Give it a try it worked for me.

Thanks vredniykot! I siliconed the crap out of them after drying them out. They've been dry for a week.

I threw the tail light in the oven. Just fits.
I was washing underneath, behind the wheel well after winter driving. I believe the water enters through the rubber vent hose.
I quit washing underneath and no water in tail light.

I'm new at the forum and just got a -97 SC 400 and also have the problem of moisture getting inside the tail light.
Couldn't find any instructions on how to open the tail lights though.
Put it in the oven for how long and what temperature ?

Wow, an old thread brought back from the dead. I see no one did a DYI with pics on this topic, lazy yuppies. If anyone has any tips on tearing these suckers apart and putting them back together that would be nice. Welcome to the forums MGa..

Thanks for the welcome, and thank you BBriBro for the link.
Have to learn, how to use the search better.
I was little scared of melting the plastic lenses, but maybe I'll give it a try
First just have to try to register it here in Finland, since it American model, it's not so easy.
