Default No Clear Coat Paint On Bumpers?

I detailed my car the other week and noticed that the color kinda rubs out when using rubbing compound on the bumpers. So is there suppose to be a clear coat on the bumpers or did it wore down? Well my color is Garnett ( 3K3 ) - metallic red

Default Hi

you can probably atribute it to the single stage (SS) paint used to paint your bumpers. When sanded, rubbed with compound, etc. you'll notice some color in the compound or sanding water\sludge.

My front bumper has clear for sure, since its been rebuilt. The rear is still stock, so I'm unsure.
