Ouch $170 + $500? That is not worth the price of HID's imo

But looks good though

$700 for HID's,... may not be a ghetto deal,... but still a good deal relative to prices I've seen before... that one site from intellexual has a set of pre-fabbed HID's for $2400,... that's insane. Most aftermarket kits costed $800 for some offbrand bullshizzle,... and some were even $1200 when this really started taking off.

I just got in for the nite and must say,.. I think it's worth it.... just my opinion... and believe me,.. I'd be tossin' a fit if I felt they weren't worth it.

Talking

I think there are a couple of misconsceptions on this thread........ There are 2 very very different HID setups............. One is where you only change the bulb to a 9006 HID bulb, add the ballasts etc. etc..... using the same projector lens............

The other, much more state of the art one is where the actual projectors are replaced with the Audi TT or BMW projectors...... This is much better because the lens on these projectors is made for the HID lights and is optically superior........

I would love to do the projector conversion.......... Who can help with the parts needed as well as the brackets?? Thanks.

$700 is what you would pay to have a retrofit .......if i can remember....on my old 96gs300.
that includes everthing with projectors of your choice and labor....

Hey all you guys ragging on NAZTY for what he paid...Why are you attempting to make him feel bad??? If he is happy with his price, then he should not have to justify anything to anyone of you I do not understand why you guys react this way to this type of matter. When it comes to the value of anything, it is worth exactly what the purchaser is willing to pay for it at the time, nothing more, nothing less. Don't attempt to take the wind out of his sails...He's enjoying his HID's...Let him do so...

Where did you get this done? Seems like a great deal for a retrofit w/parts and labor

Ok... Din, if I had of know you were the 15min master, I definately would'a called you for a hand,.... I recall askin' anyone local if they've installed these,... no response,... now,..as for price of these things,... NO WHERE ON GOD's GREEN EARTH have I seen retrofit options cost that low, or it would have gotten done.

Illusion Lighting from intellexual.net - retro = $900 / $100 for cosmetic trim,... sounds like $1K to me

there was one site,...and if i can find it again,... they sold the retrofitted assembly for $2400,....

so, given the information,.... I think I made a pretty good choice. Hell, cartoys off-brand no name HID kit was $600 installed on a blowout clearance,... and local speed shops who still carry some other no names sell them for $800 w/o labor.

Maybe I should'a looked at installin' myself,...but anyone from Texas knows too things right about now... ITS HOT AS HELL, and in Houston IT"S HUMID AS HELL,...so on that day, at that time... I didn't feel like dealin' with either,.... so paid.... I will take donations for anyone who thinks I paid too much

I'm happy with my purchase...
