Nextlevel....No reason to be deflated. This will work on all of our cars mechanically. Its the electrical part that I cant be sure of for all years.
I only responded to the question of what tranny I have. I have a built TT tranny with the SC400 drive shaft. Pretty much like having the SC400 trans itself.
There is a long bar with an adjustable slide bolt that you can adjust to get the full shifter sweep from P to L. Bottom right of the parts list...p/n 33702B. You might get away with using your own on this part. My original fit ok but tight, so I used the new one since I had it. It fit much better and had more room for adjustment.
The parts list makes it look complicated but it isnt. The hardest part for me was getting the shift ecu to work. My service manuals had information on the stock ecu with a 10 pin connector but my car has an ecu with a 6 pin connector
My 98-00 manuals had no information at all on the shift ecu.
If you look at the shift lock override, you will see that I installed a button to manually put it into gear until I had it sorted out.
So understand that everything bolts up physically but you may have some issues figuring out your ecu connections.

Not wanting to play Devil's Advocate, but do you have any definitive facts backing up what you state about the alleged compatibility of the different transmissions? For example, I called my Local Lexus dealer, and supplied my VIN Number to get the model number of the transmission put in from the factory...it is an A650E, a 4 speed automatic used on the SC400 due to more HP and TQ than the Stock SC300, which uses an A340E automatic transmission. I understand that the Gated shifter came out in 98 with two versions (thanks Jose...
), a 4 speed auto for the SC300, and a 5 speed auto for the SC400. I see that you put in the 4 speed auto into your SC300. The big question is are the shifting linkages and other parts required to make this work, interchangeable between the 4 different transmission versions? I can see it on the 300, but on the 400? Would be interesting to find out.
Thanks,
Ryan

Anybody know what is the model number of the Supra TT auto Tranny? I assume that it is made to mount up to a 1JZ, or a 2JZ. Would the Bell housing even come close to mating up to the 1UZFE? If not, then we are still at my question of the compatability of the shifter linkages and all of the other hardware necessary to make this work...

Ryan, I also think that this is the one part that your concerned about. This is the linkage to the tranny. Looking at the right side, you will see that It allows some adjustment in travel. Hope this helps.

i'm looking at the exploded view of all the parts of the shifter assembly (printout from the dealer-95,and 99 shifter assemblies)
it looks like some of the electrical parts might be interchangeable. are there any parts that can be used in the 95 assemly for the 99 upgrade?-.....to save on some of the expense?
