haha, I used some metal cleaner/polisher (Bar Keeper's Friend....thats the brand name) in a powder form, that I found lying around the house. You can find it in the supermarket next to the Ajax. Just make the cleaner into a thick paste in an empty dish or something by adding a lot of powder and a few drops of water. Apply the paste to the rims, let it soak for about 40-50 s. Take a brillow pad, or a sponge, and scrub each surface. Hose down and your done!
(Repeat if desired, some stains are tougher)
From what I gather, the powerful cleaning agent in this cleaner has no negative affects on these kind of rims. I wouldn't trust using it on chrome, even thought it says its safe on chrome surfaces.
