Default Yesterday off = Some new pics

Had a day off Monday and took the SC in for a minor cosmetic update. New exhaust tips! Woohoo
Well the car looks a lot brighter now with the bigger stainless tips. I think they're 3.5" round slant cut. Kinda like the Tanabe style.

The muffler shop did a great job. The new tips are welded on to the stock muffler and are about flush with the bumper. There is a 1/2" space between the top of the tips and the bottom of the exhaust cutout. I wanted the tips to be close for that tight/tucked look.

This completes the exhaust work for my SC. It's not a whole lot, but I'm running 2.25" mendrel pipes (no resonators) from front cats all the way to the mufflers. The sound is great with a more pronounced burble. My car is a 2000 SC400.

Other mods are SC400 Eibachs (on stock shocks for now), Daizen sway bars, and 25mm spacers on back.

I think the car looks and handles just right now. I've included a small photoshop pic of the hood/engine and side shot taken from my cellphone.

Note, I'm running two main cats to straight pipes directly to the mufflers. No other resonators or cats inbetween.

Funny thing is. When I took the car in for the exhaust work, I pointed out the third cat to the muffler guy. To my surprise the dude said it wasn't a cat but a resonator. It looked just like this https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...t=true+dual%3B

With that...I told him to proceed with the work. Since the car never had a third cat but was able to pass smog before (previous owner); I assume it would pass just the same with the new pipes. I think it's fine as long as you don't touch the two main cats.

I guess the car I picked up wasn't originally from Cali. That's the only explaination I can think of.

Yes the rims are 17x8" from the GS400. I'll try to get better pics up soon.

The mufflers are just stock, but all piping is custom.
