Glad to see you're taking advantage of living at home. One more way is to see if your parants can help you get a piece of property. Once you get a property you can take out a loan against it and buy yourself a car. Then use the interest on the property loan as a write-off on your taxes, if you plan on spending thousands at least you get a tax write-off. Now you can just go buy a car, but you won't get any tax benefit, just my 2 cents and I'm not trying to lecture you. Just giving some knowledge from experience.

Get my own place would be a dream but when home prices here are 500k median, the American Dream of owning a home is fading for many of us. I work at a mortgage office so I know how hard it is to get myself into a home. Keeping up the payments is another big obstacle.
