wheels on the sc400
hi, i'm new here and thinking about buying an sc400...currently i have 2 93 Toyota MR2 Turbo's and one of them has ultra-rare panasport wheels on it...i'd like to keep them and put them on the sc400 when i sell my MR2...they're 17x8 in front and 17x9 in back and all are +35 offset...how are these going to fit? i was actually thinking of getting either an sc400 or an is300 but the allure of a japanese v8 is very appealing and i'm a bit worried these wheels won't fit on the is300...on the sc400, however, i'm worried about them being too tucked...right now they have 215's on the fronts and 255's on the rears because that's the widest tires that would fit the MR2 but i'd like to put some wider rubber on them for the sc400....any help is appreciated....what's the widest (include offset, please) wheels that fit with and without fender rolling? thanks in advance
PS, i'll be getting a 99-00 model, though i doubt that matters any

Basically, buy some other wheels...you're not going to be able to make some wheels from your MR2 look good on the much larger SC

lol actually they're really wide for the mr2....with rolled fenders, i still had to do lots of negative camber...damn, i really liked these wheels and was hoping they'd fit well on the sc400 i could get another set shipped from japan but they cost around $1000+/wheel (depending on size) before shipping and i know i'll never get close to that for the set i have...guess i'll have to find something else....btw, +35 offset is pushed out more than +50mm...the lower the number, the further pushed out they are...how wide are the factory wheels?

They will fit fine. 17" may be a little small for an SC but your offsets won't look sunk in. The +35 mm offset will stick out further than the stock +50mm. The backs may even look a little weird because its is so wide.
Offset is the measure from the mounting face to the centerline of the wheel. Most FWD cars have a high positive offset, or flat face. Alot of older BMW wheels have close to a zero offset giving them a deep dish look. The +35 wheels will come out towards the fender by 15mm vs. the stock wheels.

The factory wheels are 7" wide.

thanks bud i already know how offsets work, but the info is nice for other people...these should come out quite a bit further than the stockers if they're only 7" wide then...another inch (since they're a total of 2 inches wider, figure 1 inch on each side) plus another 15mm because of the offset difference...sounds good to me ...i agree that 17's may look a bit too small for the sc, but i'll try them anyway since i already have the wheels...thanks again
