I paid around $350 for my HIDs several years ago.

Here is a crappy picture that I just took, it is bright outside, but I think you will get the idea.
seeing these make me so happy

I will take some more when it gets dark

Here is another pictures that I took after I got my car back from the body shop. This picture is of one new headlight and one old.

The Passenger side headlight is the new one and you can see the Blue flutter as the camera shifts down. The driver side is the old headlight.. notice the difference..

They BOTH look like the Passenger side now!!! Whooo HOOO.... I think Irontoad is a sponcer here, so I don't know if I can advertise the source..

I think it is... because you don't have to tear apart your existing headlight, then deal with any fading that occurs over time, then try to reseal the housing. Then figure out how to mount whichever projector you go with, then figure out how to seal the openning around the projector, then reinstall it. All that sounded like a PITA to me!

Here are some facts about doing what I did.

1. A bit costly (about $1000.00 total) This includes $400 for the HID kit, and $600 for the new headlights.

2. Creates a MUCH sharper cut-off line with the Blue hue at the top (much like Acura and the Lexus SC430) than the stock 92-99 headlights did.

3. OEM equipment, and Lexus quality.

4. The fact that your car will have Crystal Clear headlights!

5. MUCH MUCH MUCH BRIGHTER!!! I mean MUCH..

Below is a picture of when I had the new and the old headlights in. The passenger side was the new headlight. Look for yourself at the brightness difference.

BTW: I reduced the brightness of the picture as to better illustrate the light difference.

I purchased the headlight for $255.00 plus $20.00 for a rubber seal from IronToad.com from Chris (I think thats his name... It's the same guy thats been there for over 5 years, he's awesome!)

This means that you can get all parts (other than the xenon kit) for about $550.00 plus shipping and tax.

I use a 5500k or 6000k Hella HID kit that I bought a few years ago....

Again, pictures will be posted tonight.. around 9pm CST
Can you confirm the Lexus OEM part number for your headlight housing?
Are they 81523-24045 (for Driver side) and 81513-24045 (for passinger side)?

good job noticing the difference in the new headlights , but I think i'll go with a retrofit which will cost substantially less.

Not really, you have to pay for the Projectors (asume $150-$250 for good ones), then you have to buy the OEM HID kit which is probably going to be a used one out of a recked car that has substantial use out of it.

You are going to pay around $800+ for everything you need to do a good retrofit (plus shipping and handling and other small parts that you may need) .

Also R&D will take some time. You don't wnat to mess up.

Good luck if you go the Retrofit route

I'm not sure what my passenger headlight is, but my driver side (the one I just installed) is invoiced at : 81521-24044 and then you need the top seal: 53184-24010

I don't know if the 45 and the 44 part number make a difference, but what I was told by Lexus is that the only thing that changed was the type of Lense used on the projector. I guess its much clearer or thinner or something.. Don't really know. I just know that it looks Awesome!

Well, right now theres an Audi TT/e36 set of projectors, ballasts, and bulbs on sale in the classifieds section for $300 (not buying it though). Maybe get a set of Xenon shrouds ~100 or less. And all I'll need is a set of brackets/plates, which my friend will make for me, for free. And no R&D required =), indypwr has already done it here .

I don't know if you asking what the part number is or what its for. The part # is listed on the post that you responded to.

The seal is a rubber gasket that you must get, the old one off your existing headlight will not come off properly and must be replaced. This seal is on the top of your headlight and helps keep moisture out.

Good luck.. I went the route I did because I already had the Xenon kit and a new headlight. All I had to physically purchase was the driver side headlight.

Default New Pictures!!!!

Night Pictures I just took... They might be a bit foggy looking, but trust me, the actual lights have a great cut-off and blue hue.
