I'm located in 91776 San Gabriel. I'm very close to alhambra and monterey park. Around here, Mechanics are a dime a dozen.

Here's the painted and installed lip on my car

Yep. Those are rock chips

Sweet! LoL...i used to live right over there too (Montery Park)...but now I'm burning up in the desert (inland empire)...

How's the paint job? is it done well? how much more would they charge if they would have to fabricate the two side mounts?

Ikrshinji - thanks for posting the pics. Where did you pick up your lip?

hmm...okay, just got a quote from my shop...$220 total for :

- install front lip
- paint front lip
- install 97+ side skirts

That is, they said, as long as everything fits right on, and they don't have to mod anything. They do know that they have to drill into the front bumper, so they factored that in...

Is this a good price? The shop is a very respectable shop, who's had TONS of cars in all the auto magazines...and I've had a few guys take their cars there, and all of them have had very high quality work done...so I trust them on their work and paint...just wanted to get an idea about the price...

That price is more than reasonable.

anyone have pics of the side mounting brackets?? I guess I have to fabricate them (or get them fabricated)...and just wondering what they should look like.

(I still haven't gotten around to taking the lip in and getting it installed...)

Be sure to take some pics once you get it installed - I have a '95 and am looking to do the same thing.

so I FINALLY got around to getting my lip painted and installed (school's been crazy, and I just didn't have the time...) I had it done at MOB Works down in the City of Orange (Thanks guys!). Here's before and after pics...I'm gonna wash, claybar, and polish the rest of the car, so that the color blends a bit better (the paint on the lip looks so brand-spankin' new, also it should blend better after it cures for a few weeks in the sun...)

Looks awesome.

Are you still going to add the '97+ sideskirts?

Oh, by the way...

Try to find a clear-bra installer in your area. They should be able to make a custom piece for your newly added stone chip collector.

Yeah, I plan on the 97+ sideskirts and rear bumper...whenever I find a good deal on them : (anyone got a set for sale? )

And thanks for that clear-bra idea...I'm so afraid about rock chips now...esp. since the paint is new...I don't think I'll be driving very much in the next few weeks...atleast until the paint is done curing...

Assuming the shop was able to, I wonder why they didn't just bake the lip. It's not too big, so I'd imagine it'd be pretty easy. Unless it was an option you just didn't want.

Either way, once the paint cures, don't forget to give the lip the same paint treatment you give the rest of the car. Maybe even splurge on more durable waxes more often, since the piece is so vulnerable.
