You should see when people ask if my Soarer is *a Toyota or a Lexus???*

Hrmm... $80 isn't a bad price... gotta look into them.

When I went to find a replacement hose I was a bit taken by the dealership wanting $36 for a 6 inch piece of rubber. As I stood there in the Toyota parts store (Capital Toyota and Lexus of Chattanooga are owned by the same guy and split a lot) I asked the guy "are there any Totoya specific hoses that would work?" He went to the back and came out with a hose almost identical and said to hold them both and take a look.

The Toyota vehicle specific hoses were double layer high strength hoses that looked fine, but after holding the Lexus vehicle specific hose the differences were obvious. The Lexus specific hoses were TRIPLE layered hoses that had more threads per inch wrapped into them.

Even though Toyota makes them both, Lexus specific parts are BEEFY and very strong. There is an immediate difference noticed when they are side by side.

So yes, it is indeed correct to say "Lexus parts are better than Toyota parts" because the Toyota built LEXUS specific parts are overbuilt and very beefy. Even a stupid little 6 inch hose.

PS- nice wind deflectors
When I worked at Toyota, the power steering hose from the NA supra was the same exact part. I don't think they made it beffier just for Lexus.

(Unless you have a sc400)

Now if you want to talk about "stupid is, is stupid does"...who in their right mind goes to a car meet and pops their hood on a stock car? Like we don't know what a stock engine looks like...

I'm done, some people just don't know any better...
dont worry Tony, i too got these visors myself the same day at the meet........
i will post pics later on.

My feelings exactly. This just looks like clutter to me. I don't smoke and it doesn't rain enough here for me to worry about wanting to crack my windows for air. I guess I just don't see any reason for these deflectors other than looks, and to me the SC looks better without them.

Like I said it reminds me of those hideous Merkurs....

hey groovin would you mind taking a pic of the car with the window rolled up except for about an inch. i want to see if it leaves any kind of opening down by the mirrors. it looks like the visor will cover the top part of the window no problem but im having my doubts about the front part near the mirror.

Tony, they look a LOT better to me on groovin's car for some reason

I need to see them in person to know for sure though

Pat, we need to hook up so I can peep these...I don't really have a need for them but after seeing groovin's car I want to see the deflectors in person. (I hope it's not the Bride's that make the wind deflectors look better to me, lol, 'cause that's a possibility)
