The SC300 is amazing
I recently sold my '98 Accord and I'm in the market for a "new" used car. I've been looking for about 3 weeks now (seen tons of Integras, Civics, Preludes).. and today, I took the train to go see a 98 Civic coupe. It drove great but the condition simply sucked ***.. I inquired about another car that the buyer had listed -- a tan Lexus SC300 (like you didn't see it coming) with 145k miles, slightly out of my budget with a price tag of $6500. So I said, "Well, I might as well test-drive that sucker while I'm here.."
WOW. . Smoooooooooth automatic transmission.. (side note: I refuse to buy any 5-speed manual because the area I go to college is hilly as **** and the stop-and-go traffic makes me want to commit suicide -- this was the very reason I sold my 5-spd manual Accord). Needless to say, I fell in love with the car.. So I came home, did a lot of researching and was surprised to read the replies in this thread. Any car reaching 150k+ miles is quite the feat and I was glad to see that more than a handful had reached that mark. Anyhow, the seller had driven the Civic as his DD, which he maintained fairly well, so I assume the Lexus was maintained just as nicely. Anyway.. I registered here just to search the archives, and since I'm here, I figured I post a thread on how this situation turns out. The seller said the price was not very negotiable but I am gonna go ahead and offer him $6200 and try to get him to save me some money on taxes. Wish me luck!

For the record it's a '95 SC300, and it's cleannnnnnnnnn... cleaner than the underwear I just bought. Anyway, Gazi.. just sent you an IM but I just got this weird auto-response back.

Lexus Test Driver
pb1118, don't worry about that auto message on AIM, it comes up every time you IM him. He probably wasn't at his computer when you sent it to him, He'll get back to you. It might be easier to send him a Personal Message in the forum. Congrats on looking at an SC3!! Where are you at in NY? I've got a 94 SC3, and I do love it dearly
