did you remove the vertical bar in the front AC bumper or paint it black?
I was going to just paint it black, but it'd look like there was a triangular-shaped chunk missing out of the bumper and center piece (i.e., it'd look like ***). Instead, I had the center bar completely removed, the center piece/bumper filled, and then supported the center bar from the back with a small black painted aluminum bar straight up and down in the center where the other support used to be (the aluminum bar is the same stuff the body shop where I had the work done uses to support spoilers on stock cars). The bar was screwed into the bumper at the top, and then attatched to the center bar and bottom of the bumper with a special epoxy. The body shop said the center beam would probably be fine with nothing there, as it was as strong as a typical fiberglass spoiler, but I said I'd rather play it safe than have the thing resonate and crack at 130.
Hah, the boost is all in the Eclipse, or it was, which is why the thing is on jack stands right now.
I'm going to fix the Eclipse (once more) before I boost the SC300. I hope to have the Eclipse fixed by the spring, and then I'll probably just turbo the SC300. I was going to do a straight up GTE swap, but time is tight right now, and seeing people put down over 600hp on a stock 192,000mile bottom end has given me a little confidence in the stock engine.
Not to mention I'm not looking to make the thing into a monster....it's just my daily driver, I'd be happy with 400rwhp or so. Then again, I told my self initially I wasn't going to boost the thing at all, so I never know where my greed will take me.
Seems like the AC kit is getting some serious airplay now
Ahaha, yeah definitely. I'll be sure to post pics after the rims/suspension is done (next step). I'm also looking for an exhaust that'll sit flush with the rear bumper (might just modify the tips...I don't want it to be loud at all - got REAL annoying with my Ecipse) , and I need a little more paint/body work done before it's perfect.
