Dry carbon fiber doors made by Vertex are very strong. Dry carbon in general is lighter and much more stronger than normal carbon fiber. Dry carbon fiber doesn't splinter either. But if you are to get them I suggest that you get some chassis bars. I'm not too sure what happens to all your motors and such though for the window and mirrors.... Check the T&E site.

I dunno where you get your prices or info....
Vertex Dry Carbon Doors - $4000 or so PER DOOR
Seibon....dry carbon....bwahahahahaha, they need to learn how to lay wet carbon before they step into the next level.

Yeah, ignorance... you got me there. I've been wrenching on cars for almost 12 years, so I know a little thing or two about power to weight ratio, chief. So you're willing to spend however many thousands on these doors to save how much weight? Any hard figures here? 100lbs? Wow, that'll net ya about .1 et in the 1/4 or the equivalent of ~10hp. Great economics there. What about the labor of swapping out the door internals and hoping everything mates up and fits? You want schooling on carbon fiber weight savings? Check this out

Sorry, but I need more metal than just the horizontal reinforcements between me and whatever runs into my door.

I see your point, but some of us are not trying to lose weight to go faster in a straight line, we want a light, better handling car, i know people would say "then go buy a 240" but i dont like 240's.
I think our doors weigh more than 100lbs each, even if they are, 200lbs is a lot of weigh to take off from a car.
