dissapointed in the '97 tails

I like the 95 - 96 tails - but prefer the 97+.
It brings about a certain classiness - and I agree. It is an acquired taste that grows on you.
I did both the 95 and 2000 tails. I prefer the 2000 (97+)

Definitely a good mod.
They add a level of classiness, whereas the older tails, I hate to say it but almost give the look a civic with clear tails gives. There are occasions where I like them, but on your car the 97+ gets a

Hey OLT,
I think i know why you don't like them. I believe the 97's are far superior to the 92-94's, and 95-96's. However, the 97+'s have chrome trim implemented, and you've changed the chrome badges on your car to black. So they kinda "clash" now instead of feeling like they belong on the same car. That might be why you like the 97's, but don't seem to feel them on your car.
just my $.02...

The 3 distinct styles of rear lamp stretch across 10 years of production (which in it'self is a unique record, how many other models have managed a 10 year run with only minor updates?).
91-94; The original BIG lamps as modeled here by AASC300, making a style statement these rear lamps look so sexy when the lamps are on or off, very clean lines and unfussy, they look good on any body colour but even better on the dramatic solid colours like black or white.
94-97; The mid-run updated lamps, the rear lamp have now gained the translucent effect, the lower portion has strakes or style lines in the clear cover but the red and orange colours have lost intensity, I percieve the attempt to modernise the rear end but personally think it failed, they do look good at night.

Moving on to the 97> rear lamps, my least favourite of all three, way too fussy and the chrome ring is bling for bling's sake.
Gamers full clears are not to my taste but they do look the nuts on his car. If I had to make a choice it would be the original "Mk1" style of rear lamp, no I will not be retro-fitting the 91 lamps to Yakuza as the car is a tribute to "factory". Now if I could just find the pr1ck who fitted all those aerials - GRRRRR!

how sad.. you show 4 cars and say mines the worst because of the 97+ tails.. I went through all 3 model tails already and my favorite are the 97+.. Pictures don't do these tails any justice especially in this pic.. but maybe its just me??

By the way, any reason why you didn't go with the 97 door molding?
