dissapointed in the '97 tails
After all this wait and want I slid on the '97 tails and just flat out did not like them. The 95-96 tails seem to blend better to the car and looked more like they belong. I guess I'll just finish adding the 97 spoiler (which I love) and call it quits.
On certain colors I think the '97 tails look great, but on black I just don't think they look as good as the 95-96 tails.
I'll say this...... they look better in pictures than in person.

A lot of times newer isn't better. I chose the 97 conversion because I wanted the car to remain classy while getting it a little more body mass. I always thought the car looked too skimpy from top to bottom. Like a 2x4. I was never overly pleased with the Bomex kit. It was aggressive, but not classy. For me, it has to remain a Lexus. Once I finally find the wheels I like and do the drop, I think the end result will be nice. I LOVE the '97 spoiler, so I have no problem with it at all. I don't think there is anything wrong with the 92 tails at all, however I prefer the 96 style primarily for the translucent glass cover.

the 97s look better in person than in pics. pics can't capture the appearance of depth. all pre-97s look so two-dimensional. the clear plastic on the 97+ gives the rear end a new-car shine. also compare the side profiles between 97 tail lights and pre-97, the 97s have more slope and make the back of the car look newer and more rounded.
