Anomaly

When i installed my cornering lights into foglights mod... i should have installed a proper relay instead of taking a shortcut... anyways heres my problem...

one day i'm driving and i smell this burning smell... only at night ... i couldn't figure out what it was and one day... the smell disappears.. however i notice my lights aren't working... so i must have fried soemthing.

my parking light/cornering "fog" light/sidemarker lights are not turning on, but the rear lights turn. so i'm driving with my low beams only. the strange thing is that when i use my keyless entry remote... the lights turn on whenever i arm and disarm my car! so my problem is... how can i feed them power while i'm driving. i was thinking of installing a switch and using a constant 12v to power them.. but i couldn't figure out how to do it without running a bunch of new wires... any suggestion guys? it will be much appreciated
