Guys,
My drivers side rearview mirror is broken, so I got a replacement (complete rearview mirror assembly). I'd like to replace just the mirror part (the moving part in the housing) because I'd have to have the housing painted if I was to replace the entire assembly.
Is that possible? I can't figure out how to get the mirror / black plastic part out of the housing without breaking things.
Hope I'm making sense here ...

Tape up a scraper or similarly flat and wide tool and insert it between the bottom of the mirror and housing.
In a quick and swift motion, pry it out and it will pop off. Be careful, there's a heater circuit in there you need to unplug as well.
