Coming back home...SC300 buying question...
Hey all,
Right now I find myself daily driving an NSX while my Porsche sits in the shop.
Gee...
I am dead tired of the Porsche being in the shop, it is absolutely ridiculous. Of course I do not want to sit and put miles on the NSX every day, especially in LA traffic. So, I have owned two SC300's in the past, and I am coming back. The Porsche is sold, I will have cash in hand tomorrow. I found a 1997 SC300 with about 83k on it for $12.5 in my area. I checked her out today. She needs a little leather care, but the shop has a leather person coming by to do the entire interior. Other than that, all is well except for the idle. The idle is rock solid, however it sits at about 600rpm, or, a bit above the 500 mark, but not past the 750 mark. Shouldn't she idle between 750 and 850? The engine itself is quiet at idle and revving. No odd noises, etc. Is this just a case of adjusting the idle? I didn't actually have her out on the road, I will drive her tomorrow to see how she rides.
Anything else I should look for? Thanks!
