Hey everyone.
I'm one of the oldies on this forum.
I posted a thread like this awhile back..but I like to send it out every once in awhile just to see the haps.
Well..I'd like to know who's been logging some serious mileage on these SC's...
Some people have posted that this lexus engine from 92-97 go about 200K miles. Personally I've heard 300k.
I'm the 2nd owner of my 93 SC that I bought w/55K miles on it. The car now has 147K on it after 4 1/2 years of ownership from me. The car is still going strong. It has all kinds of custom stuff in it, a swift racing torque conveter...air filter, exhaust. No major engine problems. Just routine services and that's about it.
I have a lawyer friend who has logged 300K in his 92 SC. His car looks like new. The only major thing he had to do besides oil changes was an eventual tranny replacement at 200K. The engine is still going strong.
I'd like to know how everyone else who's logged strong miles is doing.
How many miles and any problems?
Who's got the most miles?

Mines a relative newbie....I got it with 51k at the end of April, it's got 59k now. Haven't been driving it much. Only thing it needs is an idler I believe. And of course the 60k service...ugh. It's a 93, so I'm sure all the belts and hoses should be replaced too.

Wow, good, I don't feel as bad. My '97 has almost 80k miles. It's newer, but hey, it you drive it around with 200k miles and it still works fine, then hell ya.

I've gat a '92SC3 w/ 68.5K miles on her. Still running great! Just recently did the 60k service w/ a Lexus mechanic friend. Didn't change the timing belt b/c he felt that it could go another 40k miles easy.

My 92 SC4 has 116K. Although I am having problems with the supposed "shift solenoids" according to the dealer. I haven't gotten it fixed therefore I haven't driven in a while. But I don't think it has anything to do with being driven alot. I don't know?
If I had no shift solenoid prob (o/d light blinking when on drive) then I would say it drives great ALTHOUGH I am thinking of replacing the engine so I can feel it "haul" *** EVEN better again.....

I'm keeping up with most of the scheduled/preventative maintenance.
Am I far fetched to think that I can keep this thing to 500,000 miles?
I make sure I change the transmission fluid (complete flush, done at Lexus shop) every 20-30k miles and am now using a synthetic blend for oil. Smart idea? I don't want to be replacing the tranny at 200k!!!! Expensive I've heard.

my 1994 has over 120k on it about now, i bought it used with 105k from the original owner who had documented service records from 0k miles. every service at exact mileage. he traded it into a lexus dealer in cincinnatti, and i picked it up through some nice connections. its is mint in every way, i am yet to find a single rock chip or scratch of any kind, it could pass as brand new and has every option. it runs amazingly and it is the best car ive owned! i know a guy with a 1992 red sc with 291,000 miles on it. it looks great on the outside, but the driver seat leather is starting to show some signs of wear
