I really want a CF hood, light seats, and sunroof delete to get me under 3000 pounds! But then I have to add a 10pt cage and other safety equipment which will push me back up; I guess I should quit fighting it and realize I chose a heavy pig to race!

Remember, for us whom are boosted, a turbo set up has some extra weight to. Ie turbo and intercooler and all accesorries. How much does the OEM intake piping(tubes and air box) and ex manifold weigh?

In the message Roo originally posted, I believe the weight difference between the stock hood and the CF hood from Vertex should be 58.6lbs -20.1lbs = 38.5lbs instead of 48.5lbs.

Cool thread - forgot about the coilovers..... Anyway, I would like to ad that with the stock Hydro Fan swap to electric fans you can reduce your front end weight by 25 pounds or more ....That includes removal of all ATP hydro fluids, oil cooler, lines, tanks, pump, fan, shroud, etc......
Front end weight reduction is big, I have searching for ways to lighen up that front end, Carbon Fiber body parts, etc...Not much there.....
I also believe weight reduction in your moving parts is were you will gain the best results...Like alloy light weight rims, light weight low profile tires, , Carbon Fiber/Aluminum driveshaft, etc....
Just stuff to think about.....

I highly recommend going with a lightweight battery. I went with an Odyssey PC680, it only weighs 15 lbs. It removes 30+ lbs from the front of the car, which is important when considering that the easy place to drop weight is from the rear of the car, which typically disrupts the weight distribution of the vehicle. A CF hood and FRP fenders should also be at the top of the list. Removing weight from the rear is easy, but the front is much more difficult .
