Car looks great, but a little too much for a car thats 10 years old, unless your planning on keeping it for a llllllllllong time.

I'd offer no more than 13000. If it were a 97 maybe 15-16k since the 5 speeds are so rare.

The car looks very clean and well taken care of. Very low milage is great too.
Just negotiate the best price that you can and If you can afford it, buy it.
Sounds like you have been looking for sometime, so you know that a find like this is rare.
There is definately a market for a super clean 5-speed.
I'd buy it.

I say how often are you going to find an SC with 20k on the odo?? Plus, it's a manual!! Personally, I would try and knock a grand or 2 off the price but IMO, it's pretty on target!.

WOW!! I just went to Kelley Blue Book and found that they list the value for this car, Private Sale, as $11,500!!!! Anyone have a N.A.D.A. book handy? I know that info is more in-line with what is used.

That car is literally 10 mins. away from my home in Chicago. He's looking for a S2k or 300ZX as a trade. If I can sell my ****ing car I'll be on this. When I kindly asked for a trade before knowing what he was looking for, he kindly told my to **** off; lol!!!

As i see it though; most likely if you are gonna transplant a GTE, why bother with this? True its a hard find, but I personally wouldn't buy this car unless I wanted to keep it stock. Then again, where else will you find a good conditioned SC in a 5-speed?? I say if you plan on modding, keep looking.

Why would you assume he is going to do a GTE transplant???

I said "if"; just giving him scenarios. Of course not all SC owners are up to SW/Quickturbo levels and possibly would do NA-T, but the vast majority of people, when pushing large amounts of hp, will eventually upgrade to the GTE shortblock whether from the USDM supra or JDM Aristo; almost inevitably. Also; tell me why would any SC to-be-owners look for a 5-speed if he/she didn't have plans to modify it later on, especially if he came to this site to ask?

20k original motor on a 96 nice find, take it down to 15k, it's definitely worth it imo.

I understand what you are saying, but why WOULDN'T someone search for a manual trans if that's what they preferred. Still doesn't mean they have to have any plans for modifying the car.

The SC is an absolutely beautiful car all by itself! It doesn't NEED to be changed. If you do so, GREAT!!! I myself do like them even more with a few extra ponies and a nice set of shoes, but not everyone does. There's quite a few super clean, stock SC's here at CL and I won't fault them one bit for keeping it stock! Especially when their cars look better than some of the so called "modified" ones here!

In addition, he very well may have plans for very simple bolt-ons and be completely satisfied.

I don't mean to be lashing out at you in particular, but I just get tired of the mentality that a car is less than a car unless it's modified. We are all enthusiasts here, and enthusiast covers all levels of car lovers!
