You start by picking up a affidavit at your local city small claims court.

And you don't need a lawyer if you can articulate yourself, but having one will get things done much quicker.

eventho the guy just moved and gunned it? how will i get my money back if the guy is gone? i need to do this to fix my paint.

Do you have receipts to show that he did the work for you? The receipt will come in real handy, plus they should be able to track him down with a business number. I dunno what it's called in the US but here it's the Australian Business Number (ABN) and all businesses are required to have this ABN for taxation purposes and for tracking down like in your case.

this guy is not a business..he did it for me on the side..but he didnt do to well as it shows lol..but we did make a signed contract and agreement of what he was gonna compensate me for.. but he just jetted and moved. now i have no contact of him or anything..but i do have the contract with us both signing it and having our license #s. I hope he gave me the valid license #. But yea i do have that as proof.

ya tell me about it...im freakin so pissed off that i have a ruined car and out of a big chunk of money...it kills me to see something i have great plans for turn out like this =(
