New Lexus record, 9.61@144.10!!!!
#23
Hey guys,
I'm freakin exhausted, so I'm going to copy my SF post and follow up more tomorrow.
"Just got home, and first off, thank all of you for your support!!!!! You have no clue how awesome it feels to come home and see a 3 page thread about your car and the accomplishment you've been trying to attain for the entire year. Once I get some sleep, I'll post more details, but here are some from tonight.
I was at 34psi all night long, it was damn cold, I saw a tad bit of knock, so I dialed it in there. Next, I'm having an issue with the vehicle speed sensor, throwing my 2step off, so I have to quickly turn the ign off and back on to reset, as it's bouncing when I'm not even moving. More details on that. I figured out the shutting on/off at the light to eliminate that issue.
Let me tell you, there is an absolutely HUGE difference in going from a 26" ET street, to a 28" full on slick. The car bogged like a mother with the original 2step settings, so I bumped it up and wala!
Here is a breakdown of the 2 passes. (I backed up the first pass in the OTHER lane) So the first was in the left lane, the second was in the right.
1st Pass
60ft - 1.405
330 - 4.022
1/8 - 6.197
MPH - 115.85
1000- 8.044
1/4 - 9.610
MPH - 144.16
2nd pass
60ft - 1.362
330 - 3.966
1/8 - 6.146
MPH - 114.95
1000- 8.014
1/4 - 9.595
MPH - 143.49
I actually had to look at my slip numerous times to make sure it was in fact mine
As I was in shock.
The car was hooking SOOOOOO hard!!!! I'm still waiting for my eyeballs to come back to the front of my head. I'll have a bunch of video up tomorrow when I get it from the guys that filmed, multiple angles, staging with the front tires .
I was never able to hook with the et streets, my best 60ft with those was a mid-high 1.5. It was such a different feeling coming out of the hole, it FELT amazing, and I can't even describe the force. I had other buddy's there, and they were dead on with what their cars typically run. I completely understand any scepticism, as it's a substantial drop in ET.
I'm pretty sure if I was still on the 26" my mph would have been higher tonight, than it was with the 28". I also powershifted the hell outta the car, wait till you see the video and the backfiring between shifts.
I need some sleep, so I'll post more, and video's tomorrow (as soon as I can get them).
Thanks again everyone!!!!!!
Oh, and thanks to Larry, Gary, Jerry, Harry, Mary, Terry ah screw it, the entire SP crew for not only lending me a real tire, but for the tuning, quick/quality fab work. As well as SW!!!
I promise to have some good to great vids of the runs.
Thanks again to everyone for the support! Sleepy time.
Chris

Not to take away from this accomplishment , totally different setup w/purpose-built racecar

Maybe...but this is different. Purpose built (Tubular frame, sheet metal interior, "resembles" a Lexus) compared to a streetable, authentic SC.
I might be mistaken....but I'll bet that qualifies for the Fastest Lexus in the world. (or atleast top 3).
Thats seriously respectful.....NO....thats just plain SICK.!!
I want a turbo on mine just to try and break 350hp......let alone getting anywhere near that accomplishment.
Any idea of you HP #'s?

I dont mean to rain on the GS's parade... but the SC guys were in the low 7's in 2000
Raced just a handfull of races, got the car to about 7.38's... then blast racing presumably fell off the map?

So.. what you're really saying is the GS is faster at 7.25 right
More I think about it though, guys lets please keep this thread on Chris' amazing success here, we can start another one in car chat about the drag cars. I shouldn't have even brought up the other car in comparison to it, totally different thing.
