Just A Question?

Thats a real interesting question!
A couple of the guys I know have the 2.5 TT and its awesome!
My stock V8 was nowhere near as quick, by the end of the summer it will be!
At the end of the day the V8 is so unstressed it will outlast me! I'm guessing that you could modify it to 400hp before it started to be anywhere near its limits. Where as I think the 2.5 TT would maybe have caused more problems!
But if I had to buy another, it would be the TT boosted up to 400hp, phat slicks, Porsches beware!

That's true 'S'Low Rider, Mercedes was actually not the pioneer of the folding hard top. I thought they were too until I saw otherwise. It was some car in the 50's (can't remember the manufacturer) where the top folded, or rather moved, into the trunk in one piece! It was a HUGE trunk! The SLK is the first of the modern era though...very cool.

I agree Slick Lex Coupe. I don't think it is a bad looking car, but it looks more luxurious then sporty, which I thought the SC line was suppose to be, sporty. Since the SC 430 and LS 430 don't look too similiar I don't think this will be true, but I just hope they aren't going to try to make all of their cars look the same, like how BMW and MB are. I have heard compliants before from auto mags that there was nothing that tied all the vehicles together, but i don't think there is a need for this. I do think there is need for one generation to tie to next, but not all lines. And I hope the next generation GS still has the dual compartment headlights. I fear they might get rid of it because they don't want to look like they are copying MB, but it looks so good... (praying)

I have never met anyone who thought the car was ugly. This was a great achievment for Lexus because it's hard to make a design that is widely accepted but also looks like nothing else on the road. Where I live there are no SC's. People always ask me if my car is a 2001. They are shocked when I tell them it's a 93. The new car is love it or hate it. I don't think it will look as good in 10 years. Also why did they shrink the rear seat? I think the first gen SC is the perfect size car. I actually hate taking multiple passengers in my car, but if I have to I do. You can fit a real human in the backseat of the first gen, but I don't think anyone over the age of 5 will be happy in the back of the new one. I think the new SC is a cool car, but it will never live up to the first generation. Lexus dropped the ball on this one.

First Hard Top
I got this quote from an auto site that was talking about the SC 430.
"The 1957-59 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner offered the first such top, but it was notoriously troublesome because technology didn't exist to make it reliable"
