Default 2 break through's on the climate controls. RE:fresh/recirc deafult issue on start up

Ok, I have seen at least 4 threads about the recirculatory button being the default setting for the climates and people complaining wanting to know a way to set it for fresh as the default......... well I am a little closer to finding out.

Tonight as I was installing the first official factory **** dimmable led climate () (that can cut completely off also) I noticed that when the auto climate temp rotary **** was unplugged the default was FRESH, but when plugged in the default was RECIRCULATE.

This info should help anyone who want's to help me continue to fix this Lexus factory issue. Once we (any of us here on CL) know which of those wires is making the climate kick into recirc, we can put that on a separate circuit like a switch.

I hope this info help the persons who have been asking about the recirc/fresh default settings. I know now that one of the very few wires on the **** does indeed control this factory setting!

Unfortunately it's 4 am, I'm tired, and I'm still playing with my dimmer so I'll have to figure that one out later .

Cool hehe, I actually want it to stay in recirculate, the problem is once you start it, itll stay in rec for 5 min or so and then it will go by itself to fresh air, Im talking in the non auto mode

Huh I was unaware of that. I'll try it next time I drive the SC.
Lately we've been having tranny problems.
Got a new one placed in but seems like we have a leak somewhere.

That would make sense... The other day I noticed that when I rotate the temp **** to the right, at some point it automatically switches to fresh air. When I turn it to the left, it will switch back to the recirculate setting. This is when the unit is off - no automated control, and no manual control.

I have not tried it while in automatic mode, but I would assume that it works much the same.

Keep us posted!

NOTE: If your trying to remove heat recirculate is the best because it pulls the hot air through the evaportor and back remving heat and moisture....

Just went through A/C class

You know if you hold down the Temp **** and the Recirc button and then turn on the ignition, it will cancel the annoying auto fresh and leave the recirc where you left it when changing the temperature.

Good info as always Jose. Once I find this wire we can have the option of keeping it in fresh or recirc no matter where the temp **** is.

Anyone make any progress on this issue?

I am most annoyed by the system constantly switching to recirculate when I almost always want fresh air. I rarely use the AC and never full heat here in SoCal, but always want a little fresh air, yet the $&%^# thing switches to recirc whenever I restart the car or if I turn the temp control to the coolest setting, even with the AC off--which is exactly when I want outide air.

I can see that it would make sense for it to go to recirc if the car was really hot or really cold, but that's rarely the case.

The a/c works by pulling out moisture and heat not pushing it out by bringing air in so i would addume this is why it does that....

Agreed, but it need not do it when the AC compressor is OFF. All I want is fresh air, not heated, not cooled. I can set it that way, but it has a mind of its own and reverts. Most annoying..

I would like it so it would never ever go to recirc when the compressor is off.

I ran the diagnostic as mentioned on this thread:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ht=recirculate

I got codes 11 and 21. It was dark so 21 might have been responding normally. The 11 code means an error in the in-vehicle temp sensing circuit. I guess that's the sensor right next to the ignition key(?)

After running the test, the system now works just the way I want it to. It always defaults to outside air when I restart the car or remains in that position if I turn the temp **** all the way down with the AC compressor off. PERFECT.

So running the diagnosis must have reset the system. I'm not going to worry about the 11 code. "If it ain't broke--don't fix it!"
