Unhappy Car wrecked

Hello everyone, I'm writing in regards to my friend who just wrecked his 92 sc300. It's pretty bad deals, he just picked up the car and w/in 3hrs wrecked it on the highway. I guess I'm looking for advice on what everyone thinks I should recomment he do. He's totally bummed out and doesn't even want to bother w/it, so that's why i'm here.

Prior to the crash the car was in top shape condition.

But now, it's what I think a total loss.

So basically here is the major suff damage:
Front wheels turn at different angles,
Rear driver side suspension is broken,
Driver side body damage,
Rear window gone,
Few other panels a bit bent up.

As far as the rest of the car goes, it still turns on fine but given gas none of the wheels turn, the interior is imaculate.

Here are a few things I have thought of as possible solutions:
1. Part out the car
2. Total repair (I have no idea how much it would cost)
3. Try to locate another vehicle w/say internal problems (engine, under the hood stuff)/interior things bad, then comine the two cars to make one.

Basically i'm not sure where to start, so any suggestions or advice would be appreaciated. Thanks in advance; also if you know of a car with "opposite" problems for sale, let me know. I'm in HI though, so west side would be more ideal as far as shipping goes.

yea it totally sux for him, was his fist car too!

but on the + side, no other cars were involved & he's 100% okay; can you believe some cops pulled over and gave him a ticked for being parked against traffic, the car did a 180...

How can a cop give a ticket like that if somebody was in an accident??? That seems EASILY disputable in court.

Was he cut off? How did he lose control of the vehicle?

That sucks. Maybe your friend should move onto a FWD vehicle that is easier to control

That is fixable. Find a good body man and tell him to source all the parts through www.car-parts.com

My car has seen worse now its doing just fine. :-).

Insruance will try to total it. Just dont let them. And how did the accident happen? There were no other cars involved? Id fix the car and make that my weekend car. Id get a slower rwd car and start doing autox etc so he can get the hang out of a rwd car.

The SC300 can fool some people Given equal tires all around it does have a tendecy to understeer but it rotates on the dime as soon as you lift the throttle, during hard cornering I can see that turning into a spin if someone were to actually hit their brakes. If you have bald rear tires the back end will get pretty squirelly.

Peoples natural reaction when car is pushing is to hit the brakes sometimes hard.

Its not a car id recommend as a first car, especially to one that is a car fan. Maybe he should learn the basics in a fwd car, then step into a low powered rwd car then finally hell be able to drive the sc.

Let me guess, he was trying to drift? Wondering that cause you live in Hawaii. Drifting is popular there.

That car is a total loss. The axle is bent, the rear corner panel is totally shot. Its best just to part out the car and total it out.

There should be a license to drive RWD cars.

For a 92 SC? Definitely not worth it.
