I would prefer not too waste 339$ if i could just make mine look basically the same! thanks
I didn't see this answered so I'm gonna risk bumping this thread to address this.

I do NOT recommend painting the chrome reflector housing inside the headlights. That reflector is an extremely important part of the headlight's focus and brightness -- the lens is only one aspect of how the headlight directs its light. If you paint the reflector, or alter its reflecting nature, you're going to diminish the amount of focused, useful light that the headlights put out.

I would think you'd also risk changing the reflective characteristics of the light and making the headlight put light in directions and at angles that would be an annoyance or a danger to other motorists.

I just did this, and it was not as easy as it seems. I had a hard time getting the headlight separated, and after its all said and done...my headlight is warped and will need to be replaced. I didnt keep it in oven too long, but when the whole headlight is warm and you are trying to pry it apart the plastic just bends and stays that way. I sealed the crap out of it, but I dont think it will keep moisture out. Owell....anyone know where the cheapest place to get the Halo headlights would be???

I did this and works like a dream, just one little thing, there is a screw holding the plastic lense to the reflector piece (located at the top of the headlight) thats needs to be taken out after taking apart the main headlight component from the other two peices.

I didn't have an issue with this i put them in for 3 min at 300. and everytime the adhesive started to become hard i poped it back in the oven at 300 for about a minuite

Just do it man. Use the provided procedure and it's a piece of cake.... Really simple.

Make sure to only put them in at 300 degrees for about 3 mins though. If the silicone hardens make sure you put them in at smaller intervals to warm it back up

Not an SC owner, but I did want to say thank you guys for this thread. On Thursday I followed the instructions posted here and cleaned the projector lens for my 2ES--WELL WORTH IT!!! Again, thank you VERY much for this DIY thread.

Oh, brightness improvement is 30%-40%...

Try using butyl rolls instead of silicone, its easier to set and its the factory stuffs.

hey, i did this about 2 weeks. ago. i went ahead and painted my reflector piece because it takes forever to get a response on here. ill just run hid's to make up for any lost brightness..

and i actually had to bake mine for a total of 10 mins each off and on(removing after a few mins here and there).

i didn't notice on the 1st one and on the 2nd headlight i broke the tab for that upper housing thing.

now going to use some lenz brite on the headlights and see the results.
