I couldn't afford a 60k car right now (I'm in college); however, even if I could afford it, I wouldn't want it. Ever since I first saw the SC300/400 on the road, I knew I would never be satisfied with any other car. Its original and elegant. To me, the 1st gen SC was the apex of car design. There's just something about these cars which is timeless; you just can't make it better. I worked my butt off since High School saving up for this car and waited years for the right color (rennaissance red) to come around, and now I finally got it.

Perhaps I'm being overly dramatic or obsessive about my car, but if someone offered me a straight up trade for a new IS-F or an M3, I would rather keep my SC400. If you don't believe me, I honestly don't care.

According to Motor Trends' latest test IS-F ended up in last place against M3and C63. The M3 is not attractive in a 4 door as the IS or C-class but in any event none of them are worth the price in my opinion.

As an update, at this point in my career I could afford to buy a $50,000 car in cash, however I would NEVER do that, as $14 corolla and a 16 yr old lexus provide adequate transportation and $50,000 investment income greatly outweighs the benefit of having a new, flashy ride. (to me)

I'm sure most people would prefer that new IS-F (aka IS500) over one of those.
