Personally Im a fan of finding a good deal on a used car...Would I like to own a 50k car...I think most people would. But I have a car, a motorcycle, and at the moment no debt..I can live with that! And I too am finishing up my last year of college!

I could but some of my toys will have to go away. I already got rid of my bike so I don't want to sell anymore. Like said previously I hate debt and wouldn't want a loan. I have been looking at a few cars lately I just keep telling myself no.

I could easily afford it but i hate debt. i try to buy everything cash. and no I'm not rich i just plan and invest well. I have been saving & investing since I was 15
take away the option to put it on credit and see if anyone can afford anything they even have now? it's a different way to look at everything. most of the people would have nothing and living very moderate lifestyles, like me.
I do fight the urge thought to just say **** it and buy a brand new car and rack up a huge dept, lol especially in Vegas!

I could easily afford it, but why? There are soooo many nice cars to be had in the used market. And since a car is always an expense, never an investment, a used Lexus/Acura (Toyota/Honda) are always my preference. At some point, the depreciation slows to almost nothing and it's like driving a car for almost free. (minus mods and maintenance of course)

$50K for a car, only to pull up to 5 that look exactly like it every morning at the local Starbucks? I couldn't really afford one, no, but I don't really have the desire to afford one. My wife and I live comfortably and our only debt is my car at the moment. Besides that though, I'm hopefully headed to college here in about a year, so I couldn't keep comfortably paying on it while I'm in school.
P.S. - Coming from a Mustang forum, it's nice to have a majority of responsible and mature people to BS with =0).

To add on to that, but off topic (sorry!)
I'm in Okinawa for a little bit (I miss my wife and my SC3!) and cars are RIDICULOUSLY cheap here! One of my buddies here turned down a modded '94 Supra TT for $11k the other day cuz it was 'too expensive' and I heard today that he bought an S2000 for $14k. Most normal-ish cars go in between $1-5k. There are plenty of Aristos/Soarers/Skylines/Silvias for like $2-5K.
I wouldn't mind paying $4.5k for a 2jz-gte Aristo... Too bad I can't bring one back =0)

You'll have to hear from the OP IronCobra for his reason but I have my own. A lot of folks think SC owners buy it because they can't afford another Lexus. They refuse to believe we love the car because it is the best Lexus ever made. Some can't but some can. It doesn't really matter but it is an interesting thread topic.
