Default Pros/con of running 19" wheels?

What are the Pro's and con's of running 19's vs 18's on a supra or sc300? I have been seeing many 19 inch setups but I always assumed it was just for aesthetic purposes.

now depending if you get nice wheels or not...considering you get a nice set of 19's

pros: car will look damn good...(with a drop of course)
cons: i don't see any cons...umm...they're heavier than 18's?

18's would look ok on a stock bodied SC, but if you plan to get a bodykit, 19's or 20's is a must.

If you're looking more towards the performance side, I believe 18's would work better for you.

Rougher ride, more wheel to clean, heavier, much more expensive tires to replace, may look too big depending on what style....

not really too many cons though

I did, at first I was getting lots of hits with no replys. so then i posted here, besides it always good to get as many views on this a possible. this could be a pricey mistake if I chose the wrong size wheel.

Rougher ride depends also on your suspension...

My 18" blitz with Eibach's were a worse ride compared to my current 19" work with Tein's...

I have 19's right now but have been thinking about stepping into some 18's. Like others have said tires are more expensive, it's a bigger heavier wheel in most cases which causes slower accelleration. I had rubbing issues in the rear and my car is dropped on Eibach's (fenders have since been shaved). I plan to get Tein SS coilovers soon and hopefully things will be more to my liking comfort-wise.

But for me personally 19's simply LOOK better on the SC, my only qualm is the pricing of tires for 19's. I know a tire distributor and if I had 18's my life would be much easier because this guy has tons of nice 18" tires, but only a handful of 19" tires.

If you're into looks go with 19's
If you're into performance and slightly less expensive tires go with 18's.

The choice is up to you

I've run 16-19" on my SC.

I have 19s on right now.

The main downsides are: not as comfortable, price of tires, poor accelleration, fitment issues

You may run into rubbing issues. My front wheels are 19x8 +25 with 245/35/19 Pirelli Pzero Rosso. They rub a lot. They came with the wheels but I plan on switching to Falken Azenis ST115 225/35/19. This tire has a much more slanted sidewall compared to the square Pirelli so I should have no rubbing on the fender.

Ever considered going with a 35 series tire in the front dude? Just curious.

cons: bent wheels, people wont stop staring at you car......

maybe a fat tire setup will help protect it from potholes

The only problem I have with 19's is that your tire choice is a bit more lilmted if you want 30 series tires.

The ride really isnt harsher if you use 35 or 40 series tires.
