Sorry if this topic may have been beaten too many times, but I have to ask.

I just got myself a 95 SC300. I don't really like the front bumper on it. I'd rather have a lower front bumper, if that makes any sense. Well, I was wondering what domestic companies have body kits for our cars. I think I just want a front lip for now. Anyone know the price ranges? Please, any help would be appreciated.

I'm in socali and I know that the JTAutobody guy has a kit on. I may be contacting you soon, man. I live in TC, right next to your shop.

The bomex kit is a bit too flashy for me. I was thinking of maybe getting just the erebuni front lip...what do you guys think? What are my other options?

Default which ones are polyurethane vs. fiberglass?

Particularly for something like a lower front spoiler or bumper, I would prefer something a bit more flexible like poly.
Howie, have you checked into the Erebuni front lip? Is it polyurethane or fiberglass? How much are they?
I had a bad experience w/ Erebuni a long time ago. Hopefully, they have improved for the better. Pls let me know what you find out.

Hey,

What bad stuff about Erebuni? The guy from JT said that the front lip fit perfectly in his post. I forget his username. myscztoophat or something.

I believe it is fiberglass. I used to have a urethane front lip on my Accord and it lasted forever. Never broke or anything even though my Accord was pretty low. I hit everything with it...curbs, speedbumps, stuff on the fwy...etc. It was great. I don't know of any urethane kits for the SC, but then, I may be wrong, since I'm new to the SC scene...

Howiedoit,

To my knowledge there are only two american made bodykits for the car. One is the Erebuni and the other is the Kaminari.

The Kaminari has a nice front lip spoiler, a nice small rear skirt but virtually non-existant side skirts (at least from their own photos anyway. Take a look at our moderator's twin turbo sc300 at www.turbolexus.com . The pictures taken in the moutains have the Kaminari.

I like the Erebuni kit a lot visually but many people have had bad luck with the fit and finish of it. I also think the rear skirt is too low.

This leaves with the Japaneese kits which are generally pretty wild. The most conservative kit (which I think is the nicest as well) is the AutoCouture. It can be seen here http://www.gtautosports.com with a lot of the other kits. It has only two possible problems:

1. I think the front lip spoiler might only work with '97+ models.

2. It is a bit pricey since it is coming from overseas. Look to pay $2000+ for about 20 lbs of fiberglass.

Your other option in changing your front end might be simpler than you think. You will probably be able affix the standard SC400 lip spoiler to your car. Take a look at some of the SC400's here in the gallery. It is about a 3" rubber lip. It is the only non-fiberglass option that I know of as well. There is a nice closeup of a black SC400 on the fifth page "side_of_sc4".

This all leads to my plans since I have a '95 SC300. I plan to get the SC400 piece for my front (Long story but my driveway is horrible and I can't do anything about it - fiberglass and a lowered car won't work well). I then plan to get the Auto Couture for my sides and rear. (pieces of the kit can be bought seperately). The four pieces should look pretty good together.

I think I can get all of that painted and installed for $2K.

It is pricey considering that it is a used car but I will be one of the only ones in town with it. Take some of my badges off and I would surely get some "What's that?" driving around town.

Good luck,

Mr. Wigggles

Well gtautosports appears to be down currently. You can also see the evolution here:

mrwigggles,
wow, thanks a lot. yah, i really like the auto couture kit. very clean. so the rubber lip thing comes with sc400's only? I couldn't figure which cars it comes with. i thought it came with the older models 92/93? If it's sc400, that's another story. i like that too. I'll look into trying to get one. But i still think I want to get just the erebuni front lip. thanks a lot!

Default Kaminari front lip

Mr. Wiggles et al,
I just looked at the Kaminari home page and couldn't find the front lip for my '92 SC300. Does anyone know what the part # and cost is? I've had good experiences w/ Kaminari. Is it fiberglass or poly?

As a follow up.

The front lip spoiler on the SC400 was a standard feature from '92 to '94. They stop making it in '95. I guess too many socker moms were hitting curbs, etc.

The rubber piece is sold seperately for about $400. The bad news is that it won't fit on the SC300 without extensive modification and even then it probably won't hold up at 90MPH.

Thought I would let you know.
