whats the best wheel set up for drift?
whats up guys im new to the board and i just picked up a 94 sc3 and plan on drifing it. I was just curios through your guys experience what would be the best 18inch wheel set up (width and offest) for a beginner drifter? thanks

i'm sure if you would search you would come up with instant results!
but as far as drifting, i would imagine a light wheel would be beneficial so various Volk wheels would be a tight setup. however, you need a nice suspension set up as well, i think tein and other companies make drift-specific kits for you to put on so i would look into that as well..

cause you don't search. When you search you get all this information that you never would've imagined hearing from people. As when you're asking a question every member and their mama are tired of hearing, you don't get complete and informational replies.
Just put in the advanced search the word "sc300 drift" and highlight the sc300/400 forums, you'll be glad you did that.

what ever man who says i havent searched, just because im knew to this board, doesnt mean i dont know how to use a search button and ive looked through alot of threads trying to find info and this just happen to be a question on my mind even if does seem stupid. i would just appreciate if some one could answer the question with out saying use the search button. i havent seen this quetion asked before but if you can find a similar thread then by all means enlighten me.

No offence, but the question (if you truely are into drifting) should be more along the lines of what wheel width/tire combinations are you guys using.
But, then again, it's mostly personal preference. As in, you probably don't have any if you are asking this question.
Go out, try differnt set ups and use the one that feels best to you.

Since you are a beginner, just stick with stock until you hit a curb and bend the wheel. If you plan on drifting, you WILL hit something.
You might be better off just buying a 240 for cheap and drifting that instead. It will probably be cheaper than all the repairs you'll have to do to the sc.
By the way, how old are you?

dude just buy a 240 if your a begginer, i dont own an sc yet, but i will in about a week, and i am a noob, i think , when it comes to these cars, always liked em ,ive been drifting for 2 years in 3 dif. s13's, buy a 240, and that still doesnt mean u wont crash, i messed up my super advans a week after i put em on my s13, btw, mines for sale, and your wheels arent the first thing to be thinkin about when drifting....

It depends what kind of suspension you'll be running too. Let me know what you have, coilovers or lowering springs. I use 18x10 offset 24 all around for drifting. If you just beginning to drift, like many people said here, use the 240sx or corolla gts, they are great cars for beginners but if you upgrading your drift machine into an SC, welcome to your next stage.
