Default Road and Track Specs: SC and 2nd gen IS

I found an old Road and Track Road Test of the SC400 and I compared it to one of the new IS350 and noted couple interesting finds and similarities. What do you guys think? I would never really thought that our cars can pull .86 at the skidpad stock

Handling

1. Skid Pad:
- SC: 0.86
- IS: 0.80

2. Slalom:
- SC: 60.6
- IS: 61.3


Steering

Overall Ratio
- SC: 17.3:1
- IS: 13.4:1

Turns, lock to lock
-SC: 3.1
-IS: 2.9

Turning Circle
-SC: 36.1 ft
-IS: 33.5

General Data:

Curb Weight/Test Weight

- SC: 3640/3790
- IS: 3620/3800

Weight Distribution (with driver)

Not that impressive when you realize you're comparing a 2wd sports coupe to a 4wd pig.

Still interesting though

Well the IS350 is a much after sought after 2005 sports sedan and the SC is a design from 1992. My boss who owned both manual BMW 330 and the current M3 is really interested in trading in his 2003 M3 for an IS. He's even willing to trade it in for the 250 after test-driving only the IS250. If my 13 year old SC can almost compare to the new IS in areas other than power, Im really happy. That would justify me spending money to tune it.

The IS350 doesn't come in AWD. Only the 250.
