There are plenty of pictures and maybe some videos showing how to disassemble the center console. Te process is very intuitive too.
Few tips that might help you ...
Park your vehicle on a flat spot and apply parking brakes/chock the wheels.
I alway disconnect the battery. It may be convenient to leave the battery in circuit as you have to shift the lever out of Park. [I pop out the shift lever brake over ride cover and use a flat screw driver to release the interlock].
Be gentle and don't brake anything. Remove all covers to expose hidden screws.
Also before jumping in, look at the clues. Get the wiring diagram and trace.
The switch is so infrequently used, that it is very likely good.
