Default tail light bulb size?

For 95 ~ 96 tail lights, Whats the bulb size called that are located on the top section of the tail lights, which just stays on when the headlights are turned on. 194? 168? I know its a wedge bulb, but don't know what to get. Please help thanks

Try this link, we have it posted as a sticky in the lighting forum. Good resource for bulb sizes and types

RE: that link. There's nothing in the instrument that takes a 194 anywhere inside the car at all. 194 is huge compared to any instrument bulbs.

what is the difference between, tail light, stop light and high mount tail light? The top row tail lights that has 3 bulbs in each side; is that the high mount tail light?

oh yes i did just bump this 3 year old thread

feel kinda dumb asking a bulb question but i'm slightly confused.

I just got done clearing my 95 tails and there must be something wrong with my bulb sockets because i seem to be able to fit 1156's and 1157's in them, which i know i shouldn't be able too because the 57's have a higher notch on one side vs equal level on a 56, the thing is everyplace read calls for a 1157 for the brakelights, why would they use an 1157 if they only come off and on? wouldn't that normally be a 1156 function? i always thought 1157's where only used when dual filaments where needed.

kind of a pointless question i guess since all my lights are working, i guess just trying to verify that a dual filament bulb is used on are brakelights that serve not dual filament purpose?

or am i seeing info on 92 tails? i'd imagine they use a dual filament tail/brake lights
