Let's theoretically say that an SC300 were to race some other cars. (But of course none of us would illegally street race! ) What cars would be competition and what cars would be spots in our rear view mirrors? I'd like to know because I just got a 95 SC300 and I'm not too sure of what it can do yet...

An SC300 (stock) can NOT beat a 540 or a 330i and I don't think it could take a CLK430...CLK320 probably. 528 probably. 530 maybe, 318 definitely, 323 definitely, 325 most likely, 328 maybe...
But like SC300turbo said, add boost and kill all of 'em!

You're just a better driver than your friend.
Or your SC is running stronger than normal and/or his GSR is running weaker than normal. The GSR is faster (timewise) than a SC300...the GSR's 0-60 is around 6.7 to 7 seconds...the SC300's is mid-7's at best.

With my exhaust and intake, cold air intake, heat shield, and a couple other mods, 5-speed sc300 can take a gsr with no problem, on multiple occasions!
The gsr was the newest bodystyle, all he had was an air filter and tip, no other mods. He's a pretty good driver. We were usually pretty close, his front bumper was usually around my rear bumper, until I got to about 5000rpms, I would pull away FAST for a second or two, then shift and he'd catch back up. MAN do I need that 8k redline!!
On that note....what's the max redline that would be safe for a factory motor?

That guy in the Mustang GT must have been shifting with his mouth. A well driven Mustang GT can take a GS400/GS430/SC400...with about 1/2 a second to spare in a 0-60 run...
CmputerWiz - Ah, a Manual SC300 will do high 6 low 7's for 0-60 which would explain your win (plus skill and a cold air intake doesn't hurt!)
