Black and red does work together but it would have been better if you left the rim of the wheel unpainted. The shiny rim/lips with back face/spokes would have kept the wheel from totally fading out. Now it looks like an empty space in the wheel wells. If you like it that's all that matters.

I kind of see where you are going with it.....however, I would have went with a black wheel with polished lips.....sort of like this:

What I will say is this: with that look, you need some real power to back it up. You know, the "shut and watch out" kind of power. Think CLS 65 or better.

I too, perfer a polished lip on black wheels. But my next wheels will reflect that.
I've got LS400 brakes on the way so they should look a little better behind the wheels.

Agreed, also like what others said maybe some painted calipers would do the trick or if you have the extra $$$ and the rims where a polished set you could of had them powercoated a translucent black chrome.. that would look damn sexy especially with a polished lip. But it still looks dope good job.
