Default Paint Removal On CF Hood

A friend of mine who is also a memeber of the forums want to sell me a nice carbon fiber hood for my SC. We help each other out when it comes to parts and stuff like that. He is selling me the hood at a fairly good price. I am all for the sale however, he had painted the sides sort of how like some show cars do. He had painted the sides black. What I want to find out is if there is any possible way to remove that paint from the carbon fiber hood without damaging the hood in anyway. I am always up for re-clear coating it if I have to.

I think you're going to have to sand the entire hood down a bit, micropolish, and then clearcoat. Usually not worth the time/cash/trouble.

The team target/pheonix front is the only front I'd actually save up money to get. I give that front a 10 all the way. So back on topic here. So basically it sounds like if its not worth it. I think it would cost more to take the paint off than to buy a brand new hood. So what I'll do is buy a brand new hood. Thanks guys.

Yeah, I'm about to order the whole kit for my car. The car pictured above actually has what I believe is the Runner widebody fenders, sides and rear. The full kit looks like this:
