Fog lamps inop. 1995 SC400
Just bought a 95 SC400. Pearl white, tan. 95k miles. I;m sorting it out and fixing a few small things that need it.
One item is the fog lights don't work.
I thought it a bit unlikely that both bulbs had burned out so I first tried to check the fuse. The owners' manual shows it to be located in a box behind the left kick panel. There was no fuse there. In fact, there was not even a socket in the position where both the manual and the diagram on the cover of the fuse panel showed there should be one.
So on to checking the bulbs,
The simple question is how do I get at them?
I can't find any screws to remove the lenses and am afraid to start prying on them.
Do I need to remove the inner fender well?
Thanks in advance.

Don't try to get the lens out from the outside.
Look directly under the fog light, on the underside of the car. You will see 4 bolts that hold the covering on to the bottom side of the front bumper. Undo these 4 bolts and pull down on the covering part so that you can slide your hand under. Then reach up into the bumper area through this opening you have created and locate the bulb. Twist the bulb housing when you find it and pull it out. It is a PITA to get at, that's why so many of us hate it

My advice is to remove the foglight to replace the bulb - it's not too bad, after you've done it a few times. Remove the under engine plastic cover, then remove the smaller plastic cover under the foglight. You should be able to access the fog light housing now. There are (3) 8mm nuts holding it in - 1 is on top (somewhat hard to reach) and the other 2 are on the backside of the foglight. Once these are removed the foglight will just slide out through the front of the bumper quite easily. The bulbs themselves are held in by a metal "tang or clip". The fog bulbs do blow out and are of the H3 variety. I replaced mine with Silverstars to match my headlights and have been pleased with the light output. I also removed the metal light sheild from inside the fog light to increase the light output - you'll see the metal part inside once you remove the bulb. My fog lenses are kind of dull due to years of being 1' off the ground and taking road debris head on - so I may replace them - they are $110 from Carson Toyota ea. IIRC. Good luck.
