That might be true, but everytime I go to a Lexus dealership, the preowned section is stacked with more SC430s than any other model.

Think about it. The lease's are up on these cars the same as any new car will have many turn in's 2 to 4 years after introduction. Since most of these cars are lease's what would you expect? People lease and turn them in for another make or model. SC300/400 was the exact same way. For sure nobody is leasing a SC300/400 nowadays considering they sell from 3-7k. But most luxury cars are lease's these days. New GS430 will be the same. Look for a ton of RX330's next year. Same for Porsche, BMW, Benz, etc... I went over to Porsche at one time and they had a nice allotment of 996's-the newer 2002 style. Once again, lease returns. Does not reflect negatively about Porsches or any other make-just the nature of leasing.

I was thinking the same thing earlier today. There was a row of em at the dealership on my visit last weekend. I was like whoa, what's going on.

BTW...I want to apologize to the sc430 brethren out there who may have been offended by my comments. I re-read them and they sound a little strong. Let me say this. I think the 430 is a sweet looking car. Very stylish. The interior is top notch. Sound system, great. 300 hp...can't complain. Tricked out hard top convertible, way cool. I'm just really disappointed the car didn't evolve more from the 300/400. I was waiting for it and was disappointed. I'm not changing my feelings but I didn't have to be so strong with the comments.

Hey, thats why you get the best of both worlds.
Going to have two SC's siting side by side in the garage pretty soon.
The only real complaint about the 430 is what the hell was lexus thinking with the wheels.....the run flats are annyoing if anything and the rims are the most horrid things I have ever seen. Im 6ft about 170 I fit fine. I think its a fun little car, would not of been my choice if I would of had the money the parents spent. My mom loves it and enjoys the car so I guess thats all that matters.......I perfer the 300/400 look personly though.

Maybe lexus should buy back some old SCs like 250 of them and make some special 15 year memorial editions of the SCxxx, implant the new engine and all new technology like the SC430 and auction them at whatever price people are willing to pay for them say on E-bay, I wonder how many of us would go for it?

Wow, novel idea. Only problem is this works better when the older engines wear out. My car still feels and drives like the first time I drove it. The drive train doesn't seem to wear out if cared for.

uh-oh, sounds like marketing from Ford Mustang is taking affect on people. "let's design a new car that looks old because we are running out of design ideas."

bringing back an old car seems like an act of desperation. not to rain on anyone's parade, but i hope Lexus will never take a step back and bring the original SC's back to life.

This is a pretty bias poll... put it in the sc430 forum and let's see what happens there

not to mention there are probably a lot of people (including myself) that flat out can't afford a new SC430 so they will show more love for the SC300/400.

There's no Bias to this poll. It's a question that targets SC owners and what they "would" do if they had the chance. The SC430 is a wonderful car (inside and out) but some people prefer the style of the 1st Gen SC. This simply asks if people would prefer all the technology on a previous edition vehicle. The reason it's not bias is because the price is the same. If I had mentioned the same question but with different prices then that would make it bias because if would skew the question in favor of on or the other.

Someone should create this poll in the SC430 thread (without getting dinged for cross posting) and see what the results are.
